AdviceTech Forum (May) – Using automation to make it easier to deliver advice, as well as moving platform assets

The May 2026 AdviceTech Forum bought together four senior practitioners to examine the practical realities of moving platform assets at scale and automating the advice process. The panel comprised:  

  • Daniel Howard, Head of Financial Advice Planning & Investments at Skipton Building Society;  
  • Steve Oakley, Head of Change & Development at Astute Private Wealth;  
  • Paul Sutherland, Head of Governance & Risk (FS) at NFU Mutual;  
  • Alex Twiss, Managing Director at Connor Broadley.  

Each panellist has led a significant transformation programme within their firm and shared first-hand experience of what it takes to consolidate platforms, streamline operations, and deliver better outcomes for clients and advisers alike.
